A MAGIC FESTIVAL

Splendour in the Grass will return to warm up your winter for its 9th annual festival. Australia's much loved festival event will feature a real feast of musical treasures from around the globe.
Splendour in the Grass will take place at Belongil Fields on July 25th and 26th, 2009.
The two-day annual event accommodates 17,500 people who party for the weekend to a mix of rock, hip hop, electronic and alternative beats from both international and national artists, whilst also featuring local arts and crafts, creative performances and cuisine. From humble beginnings in 2001 this is now a world leading experience for music lovers.
In past years Splendour in the Grass tickets have sold out in advance, often within hours of going on sale. This year Festival organisers have set up a ticket resale systems whereby anyone who buys a ticket but can’t go can resell it on the website - you’ll still need to be quick, as demand for tickets is very high.

ACCOMMODATION FOR SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS

Belongil Beach is quiet and very close to the festival, with a couple of great laid back cafes and a lovely surfing beach. Belongil has some terrific acommodation close to Splendour in the Grass. At the luxury end is Belongil Escape a near new luxury resort for those wanting a fabulous 5 or 7 day break to really soak up the best that Byron has to offer. Byron Bay town centre accommodation is also just a 3 minute shuttle ride to the festival and is very popular.

Byron Bay budget properties are rare during Splendour and are usually booked by the end of the day tickets go on sale - if not before. Check out BBB on Middleton as a good starting point. Also check out Brunswick Waterfront Apartments just 10 minutes drive to the festival. There is also a great range of budget accommodation in Ballina, which is a 30 minute drive from Byron Bay, with frequent shuttle busses to take you to and from the Festival. Weather you are staying in Byron Town Centre, Ballina, Lennox Head, Brunswick Heads or one of the many other locations in or close to Byron Bay, Byron Bay Accom has the largest range of budget accommodation, but it does go very quickly, so we recommend you get cracking.
